Safeguarding is at the heart of Transform Career UK Ltd when working with children, young people and adults at risk. Transform Career UK Ltd is committed to safeguarding and believes that all children, young people and vulnerable adult have the right to be safe and that their welfare is paramount.
At Transform Career UK Ltd all staff and volunteers share the same safeguarding ethos and passion. We are duty bound to the Children’s Act 2014 of the Children’s Act 1989, the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (SVGA) 2006 and the Safeguarding Adults Care Act 2014.
This policy structure has been taken from Safe and Sound, 2018 and has been adapted in line with Birmingham Safeguarding Children’s Board (BSCB, 2018) and Birmingham Safeguarding Adult’s Board (BSAB, 2018) in accordance to the safeguarding practice at Transform Career UK Ltd.
This policy is reviewed, endorsed and approved by the directors annually or when legislation changes. Parents and carers are informed of this policy appropriately.
The policy is to be practiced by any member of staff or volunteer working directly with children, young people and adults at risk, and to any other support staff or the director of the organisation who becomes involved in a child protection concern in the course of their work. This is in accordance to the Birmingham Safeguarding Children’s Board (BSCB, 2018) and the Birmingham Safeguarding Adult’s Board (BSAB, 2018).
The policy applies to anyone with whom we are in contact with during the course of our work, whether a child, a young person or an adult at risk. Where the policy or procedure refers to a ‘child’ or ‘young person’ we mean anyone who has not yet reached the age of 18 years. Where the policy refers to an ’adult at risk’, we mean anyone who is 18 years or older and who is vulnerable according to the definition in the Birmingham Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedure. According to Disability Code of Practice 2014, children and young people are to be protected up to age 25.

Transform Career UK Ltd is committed to devising and implementing policies so that everyone within the organisation accepts their responsibilities for safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk from abuse and neglect. This means following procedures to protect them and reporting any concerns about their welfare to the appropriate authorities.
